Jenson: ‘Jacques & Me Do Talk!’

Jenson Button, Jacques’ team-mate at BAR, has downplayed talk of a rift between himself and JV, insisting that yes, they do talk to each other!

Throughout the winter, Jacques’ relationship - or lack of it - with his new team-mate has been the talk of the paddock.

Yet Jenson has now dismissed suggestions that the pair don’t speak to each other.

"We don't go and play cards together in the evening but we get on," he told barf1fans.com. "We say hello in the morning. There's no reason why we can't work together, sharing data and getting as much information as we can, not trying to keep anything back."

On the track, Jenson is expecting a big challenge from his new team-mate - bigger, in fact, than from any of his previous team-mates.

“I’ve never actually been team-mate to anyone who’s won a race before,” he explained. "I think Jacques is going to be very quick this year - there's no reason why he wouldn't be. He's been World Champion in the past and if you look at his qualifying stats from last year he's done a very good job."
